End-user license agreement

Last Updated: January 2026

This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is a legal agreement between you (the “End User”) and hprintweb for the proprietary software/firmware embedded on the microchips of the printing cartridges supplied by us.

By installing or using our cartridges, you agree to be bound by the terms of this EULA.

1. License Grant

hprintweb grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the firmware embedded on the cartridge chip solely for the purpose of enabling the cartridge to communicate with your printer.

2. Restrictions

You agree not to, and you will not permit others to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the microchip firmware.

  • Attempt to bypass or disable any ink-level tracking or security features.

  • Modify or create derivative works of the firmware.

  • Use the firmware for any purpose other than the normal operation of the cartridge in a compatible printer.

3. Firmware Updates & Compatibility

  • Printer Manufacturer Updates: You acknowledge that printer manufacturers (OEMs) frequently release “Firmware Updates” via the internet or Wi-Fi. These updates are often designed to disable non-OEM chips.

  • Assumption of Risk: hprintweb is not responsible for the failure of a cartridge caused by a printer firmware update performed by the user after the date of purchase. We recommend disabling “Automatic Printer Updates” to ensure continued compatibility.

4. Ownership

The firmware is licensed, not sold. All intellectual property rights in the firmware remain the property of hprintweb or its technology partners. Use of OEM brand names (HP, Canon, etc.) does not imply that the firmware is an OEM product.

5. Termination

This license is effective until the ink/toner in the cartridge is exhausted or the cartridge is physically destroyed. This license will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any term of this Agreement.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The firmware is provided “as is.” While we take every effort to ensure 100% compatibility at the time of sale, hprintweb makes no warranties that the firmware will remain compatible if the printer’s original manufacturer modifies the printer’s software environment.
